摘要

The Lewis base-promoted hydrosilylation of cyclic malonatesprovides a convenient synthesis of β-substituted aldehydes.No over-reduction to the primary alcohol is observed as thealdehyde functionality is protected until a subsequent hy-drolysis step. The utility of the method is demonstrated in anumber of examples and further in the synthesis of y-sub-stituted propylamines in a one-pot hydrosilylation/reductiveamination process.
