摘要

Ru-3(CO)(12) has been found to be the efficient catalyst for the addition reactions of catechols with both terminal and internal alkynes to selectively afford 2,2-disubstituted 1,3-benzodioxoles in good to high yields. The formation of 2,2-substituted 1,3-benzodioxoles results from the tandem addition of two O-H bonds of catechols to alkyne's triple bond.
