A new spermidine, named lyrium spermidine A (1), was isolated from the fruits of Lycium ruthenicum Murr, together with 11 known compounds: N1-caffeoyl-N3-dihydrocaffeoyl spermidine (2), N-monocinnamoylputrescine (3), malvidin (4), peonidin 3-O-[6-O-(4-O-E-p-coumaroyl-O-alpha-rhamnopyranosyl)-beta-glucopyranoside]-5-O-beta-glucopyranoside (5), petunidin 3-O-[6-O-(4-O-E-p-coumaroyl-O-alpha-rhamnopyranosyl)-beta-glucopyranoside]-5-O-beta-glucopyranoside (6), protocatechuic acid (7), ferulic acid (8), 4-(p-cumaroyl)-methyl-L-rhamnoside (9), p-coumarinic acid (10), rutin (11), and quercetin (12). Compounds 2-10 were isolated for the first time from the species Lycium ruthenicum. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods, including 1D, 2D (HSQC and HMBC), NMR, and HR-ESI-MS.
