Lectin from bryonia alba roots

A method has been developed for isolating and purifying lectin from Bryonia alba roots. Proteins with molecular weights from 45 to 67 kDa dominate in the partially purfied lectin. The carbohydrate selectivity places the lectin in the galactose-specific group.
