Flavonoids from the leaves of Sorbus tianschanica

Sorbus tianschanica is a bush or perennial tree belonging to the family Rosaceae. Sorbus tianschanica grows wildly in the northern region of China, especially in Xinjiang. It has been used as a pharmacologically valuable plant to treat tuberculosis, asthma, and gastritis. Chemical analysis shows that it contains terpenoid [1], flavonoids [2], and organic acids [3, 4]. Phytochemical research shows that the major biologically active compounds in this plant are flavonoids [5, 6].
