AT THE FBONTIER OF PHARMACY PRACTICE TODAY ARE many new functions labeled "clinical." This term has been referred to those services which either by environment or function occur in the patient-care area. The utilization of a pharmacist's drug knowledge as. applied to the specific drug problems of an individual patient is a clinical role for the pharmacist which parallels the specialized clinical roles of other health practitioners. A great many practitioners and educators in both pharmacy and medicine have advocated such a clinical role for those pharmacists who are educated and trained to function in areas of drug related patient-care.
