Preparing High Schoo! Students for College Science Classes

What do high school graduates need to know and be able to do to be success-ful in college science courses? This wasthe topic of an enthusiastic panel dur-ing NABT's 2008 National Conference inMemphis. The panel consisted of univer-sity professors and high school biologyteachers. Each member of the panel pro-vided his/her point of view on the topicand then questions were solicited fromthe audience. Several themes emergedas to what college professors look for infreshmen and what high school teacherssay about the preparation of their sciencestudents.
