CHEMICAL CONSTITUENTS FROM THE ROOTS OF Nauclea orientalis

摘要

A new naucleidinal derivative 4 along with nine known compounds constisting of six indole alkaloids [naucleficine (1), naucleactonin A (2), naucleidinal (3), 19-epi-naucleidinal (5), strictosamide (6), and pumiloside (7)], two secoiridoids [aligenoside (8) and sweroside (9)], and vanillic acid (10) were isolated from the roots of Nauclea orientalis. The structures of all isolated compounds were elucidated from their physical properties and by spectroscopic methods as well as comparison with previous literature data. Compounds 1–5 and 8–10 were isolated for the first time from this plant. In addition, the isolated compounds were tested for cytotoxicity on HeLa and KB cell lines.
