Combined surface and intracellular staining by flow cytometry

摘要

The standard flow cytometry procedure for the staining of intracellular antigens requires that the cells be first fixed and then undergo a per-meabilisation step. In the past it was feared that such procedures would have negative effects on the integrity of surface-based antigens which are routinely used for gating purposes. This article describes a study that shows that the staining of such surface antigens can be satisfactorily carried out at the same time and in the same simplified protocol as for the staining of intracellular antigens.
