To the Editor: We read with interest the Technical Note entitled "Purse -String Capsule Repair to Reduce Proximal Femoral Arthro-plasty Dislocation for Tumor-A Novel Technique with Results" by Henderson et al [1]. The authors were able to decrease the chance of dislocations after proximal femoral arthroplasty for tumor resection by a surgical technique of purse-string suture through the hip capsule using 3-mm Dacron suture. This was said to be the first description of this technique for hip capsular repair in an effort to reduce dislocation after proximal femoral arthroplasty. There were 36 patients with average follow-up of 22 months (range, 1-64 months). The dislocation rate was 2.8%.
