Report of the Third Intersessional Workshop to Prepare for the 2007 Bowhead Whale Implementation Review and to Consider Progress on the Greenland Research Programme

The meeting was held from 20-25 March 2007 at the Technical University of Denmark, Danish Institute of Fisheries Research, Dept of Marine Fisheries, Copenhagen. A list of participants is given as Annex A. Donovan welcomed the participants to the Workshop. He noted that this was a primarily technical workshop to complete the necessary outstanding tasks identified in SC/59/Rep3 (hereafter called the January workshop) to ensure that AWMP-lite could be successfully used to run the agreed trials. In addition, the Workshop would spend some time discussing whether and how it would be possible to improve management advice for the Greenlandic fisheries at the 2007 Annual Meeting in Anchorage.
