CREATING AN EFFECTIVE INSPECTION RECOMMENDATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

It is important to have an effective inspection recommendation categorization and tracking system independent of your CMMS. It's also important to have a documented work process for managing it consistently across the entire site, so that it works the way it is supposed to, day in and day out. That documented work process should also contain a deferral process for inspection recommendations that is invoked prior to an inspection recommendation becoming overdue. Report overdue inspection recommendations to the appropriate level of management (depending upon the category) at an agreed upon frequency. Finally, audit the work process at least annually to make sure it's working per the documented work process.
