Optimal conditions for investigations of thermodynamic properties have been determined experimentally by the method of combustion calorimetry for compounds of the o-benzoquinone series. In the present work, the energies of combustion in oxygen were measured at T = 298.15 K by static bomb combustion calorimetry for 3,5-di-tert-butyl-o-benzoquinone and 3,6-di-tert-butyl-o-benzoquinone. The experimental values have been used to calculate the standard (p degrees = 0.1 MPa) molar enthalpy of combustion Delta H-c(m)degrees and formation Delta H-f(m)degrees for the examined compounds in the crystalline phase.
