Antibody response to HS and FMD vaccination with levamisole treatment in cattle.

The antibody response of cattle (n=40) against Pasteurella multocida following levamisole hydrochloride (Lemasol-75, 2.5 mg/kg bw s.c.) treatment and simultaneous vaccination with haemorrhagic septicaemia (HS) and foot and mouth disease (FMD) vaccines was studied by indirect ELISA and indirect haemagglutination tests. P. multocida specific antibodies could be detected at 7 days and peak antibody titre at 60 days post-vaccination by the tests. No interference on antibody production against P. multocida following simultaneous vaccination with HS and FMD vaccines was observed. Levamisole hydrochloride when given as injection on the day of vaccination did not cause statistically significant increase in antibody titre against P. multocida..
