160 day-old Vencob broiler chicks were divided into four groups of forty chicks each: control group (CON), BBT (Bio-Bantox at 5 kg/tonn of feed); OAT (ochratoxin A at 1.0 ppm) and OBB (ochratoxin A at 1.0 ppm and Bio-Bantox at 5 kg/tonn of feed). Treatments continued up to 6 weeks of age. Addition of OA in the diet reduced the body weight gain, feed intake, water intake and FCR values, whereas addition of Bio-bantox had ameliorating effects on all of the above growth parameters. The chicks of OAT groups showed significant decrease in the values of total serum proteins (TSP), serum albumin (SA), serum globulin (SG) and serum cholesterol (SC) levels than the three other groups, whereas serum uric acid (SUA) levels increased significantly.
