Correlation between body weight at different ages on some production and reproduction traits in Holstein Friesian x Sahiwal crossbred cattle - (Part II)

Body weight from yearling to calving have a profound influence on production and reproduction related traits in cattle. Genetic, Phenotypic and Environmental correlations considering body weight at different ages and age at first calving, first/successive calving interval, first/successive dry period, lactation milk yield, peak yield and lactation length have been studied. Weight at calving is significantly correlated with almost all these traits; and is the most reliable indicator to predict an individual's future performance.
