摘要

The study was performed on Salmonella-free 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8- month old female chickens, and 14-month old New Hampshire cocks infected orally with a strain of Salmonella gallinarum. Collected sera from healthy and infected poultry were tested for sialic acids amount. The experimental acute fowl typhoid caused a significant rise in the content of sialic acids independently of the age and sex of the infected birds. Our results clearly show that enhanced sialic acids are consequence after infection with Salmonella gallinarum and could be one of pathogenetic factors for the development of actue fowl typhoid.
