One-day-old cobb-400 broiler chicks (240 nos.) were randomly assigned into four dietary treatments each with three replicates of 20 chicks. Four experimental diets were formulated as control diet (T:) without ginger or garlic, while, birds in group T2, T3 and T4 were fed with diets containing 1 % garlic, 1 % ginger and a combination of 1% of garlic and ginger, respectively. Ginger supplementation at the rate of 1 % have shown improved body weight gain (g/bird), lower feed conversion ratio and improved sensory parameters. The results obtained revealed that ginger can be added at the rate of 1% of broiler ration as a viable alternative to antibiotic growth promoters for the feeding of broiler chicken.
