Surgical Management of Recurrent Vaginal Prolapse in Bitches -A Review of Five Cases

Five female Labrador retriever were presented with the history of recurrent protrusion of mass through vulva during the oestrus cycle and gradually regress after that cycle. Physical examination of the vulval protrusion confirmed type III Vaginal FoldProlapse (VFP) in all the cases. The prolapsed mass was not reducible manually. Initially resection of the vaginal fold prolapse was done and a month later ovariohysterectomy was performed. The present paper reports the successful surgical management ofrecurrent vaginal fold prolapse in five bitches.
