摘要

Cryptorchidism is the most common genital defect in male sheep and is caused by the interaction of genetic, epigenetic and environmental factors. Data on cryptorchid condition, horn presence, birth weight, ewe weight at lambing, season of birth and parity from 305 male lambs of Mandya breed were analyzed by logistic regression with wald chi square and odds ratio tests to know the effect of these factors on cryptorchidism. The mean birth weight, average live weight of the dams, and parity did not havesignificant influence, whereas season of lambing and polled condition had significant influence of prevalence of cryptorchidism.
