摘要

Coccidldosis is an important disease of chicken caused by protozoan parasites of the genus Eimeria. Coccidiosis infection results in substantial economic losses due to mal absorption, reduced weight gain, impaired feed conversion and high mortality. The appearance of resistance to coccidiostats, consumer demands and withdrawal of feed additives before slaughter might restrict the use of anticoceidial in future. Several investigations (Allen et al. 1997) have shown that feeding diets high in n-3 fattyacids (n-3FA) is protective against some protozoan infections in poultry. Hence, the present experiment was undertaken to study the effect of Omega -3- fatty acids sources to control coccidiosis in chicken.
