Efficacy of Cloprostenol on Oestrus Induction and Conception in Buffaloes

The present study was conducted on 33 sub-oestrus buffaloes during breeding season. The aim was to evaluate the efficacy of low dose of cloprostenol (100 // g) through IVSM route for oestrus induction and conception following fixedtime insemination at 72 and 96 h. 84% (21/25) and 12% (1/8) animals showed oestrus response in treated and control groups, respectively. The animals of treated group showing intense, normal and weak oestrus were 28.57, 52.38 and 19.05% respectively, withthe conception rates of 100, 45.45 and 0%. The overall conception rate of treated group was 57.14% as against 0% in untreated group.
