Nutritional composition and effect of processing techniques on nutrient and anti-nutrient components of Albizia chinensis leaf meal (ALM) was studied. ALM was found to contain 23.54% DM, 28.74 - 28.78% CP, 2.62 - 2.70% EE, 24.44 - 24.50% CF, 27.68 -28.12% NFE and 15.97 - 16.45% TA. The average ADF, NDF, Ca, P, total tannin and condensed tannin were estimated as 45.29±0.02%, 53.27±0.12%, 0.77±0.01%, 0.48±0.01%, 13.87±0.01% and 0.10±0.01%, respectively. TDN% was calculated to be 44.27+0.02%. All processing methods (i.e. heat treatment, soaking in water, and soaking and boiling in water) significantly (P<0.01) reduced both nutrients and anti-nutrients of ALM, except the NFE and TDN which were improved for decreased CF and TA contents. In view of significant reduction of tannin and condensed tannin level, processing of Albizia chinensis leaves may be advocated for feeding to the dairy animals instead of using 'as such' to the farmers.
