摘要

Haemobartonellosis is a tick and flea transmitted disease caused by Mycoplasma haemocanis, that affects dogs. Mycoplasma haemocanis belongs to a group of mycoplasmas containing both DNA and RNA replicating through binary fission (MacWilliams, 1987; Harvey, 1998). Canine hepatozoonosis caused by Hepatozoon canis was first reported from India by (James, 1905) and also reported by Ananda et al., (2005) and Tripa-thi et al., (2007). The disease is transmitted by the ingestion of tick Rhipicephalus sanguineus, more commonly in young and immunodeficient animals (Baneth et al., 1997). The present case reports a concurrent infection of Mycoplasma haemocanis and Hepatozoon canis in a German Shephered dog.
