Toray to produce fabric for car airbags

Toray Industries Inc plans to begin manufacturing base fabric for car airbags at its Czech textile subsidiary around January 2006 to supply the material to Japanese and local carmakers in Europe.As part of the plan,the company intends to spend several hundred million yen and introduce necessary equipment to the subsidiary.The production output is targeted at 600,000 metres in fiscal 2006 and 4 million metres in fiscal 2010.This subsidiary has been producing polyester fabric for use in clothes lining.
