Rotor spinning, which was an emerging technology a few decades ago has found its major commercial acceptance during the last two decades.Although a few other new systems have been developed in the recent years, none of them could pose a serious threat to its commercial success and even now rotor spinning system is considered as the most successful alternative to ring spinning particularly in the low count range. In this work,an attempt has been made to investigate the comparative influence of fibre friction on the structure and tensile behaviour of ring and rotor spun yarns.
