Backing of handtufted carpet:A new substitution technique

The present technique of backing handtufted carpet involves use of two series of textile fabrics,namely secondary & third backing and latex as adhesive.The present technique is not friendly to artisans engaged in the process as well as to the consumers as latex & application techniques are not so eco-friendly.Therefore industry demands a substitution.The present innovation is to fulfil the requirement of industry,develop a new product range and provides direction to that effect as evident from literature survey.
