I just came back from my first skiing outing of the year. I'm happy to say I am intact, although my knees are a little achy! Coincidentally, later this week 2 patients came in who had experienced "twisting and pulling" knee injuries. As with any patient complaint, the history is essential to establish baseline information. The current symptoms, duration, and mechanism of injury direct the inquiry. In addition, investigation of 4 cardinal signs and symptoms accompany knee joint injury history.
