How the affordable care act will affect practice in 2014

Welcome to the new year and the Affordable Care Act (ACA)! The primary goals of health care reform are to increase patient access to care and improve quality of care while controlling costs. Although much of the focus has been on the "individual mandate" provision, which requires almost everyone to have health insurance coverage, other changes relating to preventive care and Medicare reimbursement will potentially increase access to health care providers for many individuals. Starting January 1, 2014, the ACA will dramatically affect our practices.
