Welcome to the 2012 special issue of The International Trade Journal. This is the second special issue in the 26-year-life of the journal. These are devoted to a special topic or theme. The decision to add special issues was necessitated by the twin exigencies of increased submission rate and the need to devote an entire issue to a specific topic within the realm of "international trade," broadly defined.
