People living in the poorest countries in the world are benefiting from a "mobile cellular miracle" that has seen access to voice and simple data connectivity rise from an LDC average of 1.2 percent of the population to almost 30 percent in just 10 years, according to figures released by ITU at the recent LDC IV conference.
