A set of 20 two-line hybrids, obtained by crossing thermosensitive genic male sterile lines with male parents, was evaluated for grain and cooking quality parameters, namely grain length (GL), grain breadth (GB), length/breadth ratio (L/B), kernel length after cooking (KLAC), kernel breadth after cooking (KBAC), linear elongation ratio (LER) and breadth-wise expansion ratio (BER). TS18 x CB96026, with the highest yield of 52.75 g per plant, had medium slender grains with KLAC of 14 mm. The kernel LER was more than 2.0 with a BER of 1.11. In addition, TS18 x CB96026 also had intermediate to high GT, intermediate amylose content and soft gel consistency.
