VENTSYS - A Software for the Design of Underground Mine Environmental Systems

摘要

The paper describes the development of a computer software viz; VENTSYS by the authors for designing underground environmental systems. This software uses a new algorithm for solving fluid flow distribution problems in mine ventilation network. Many additional features like prediction of gas concentration in the network, concept of leakage and limit quantity branches and drawing of the network schematic with fan and mine characteristics are also provided in the software. The paper presents the modular structure, different menu options, data flow path and method of editing of ventilation network schematic. Finally the software has been applied to solve the underground environmental problems of Angarpathara colliery of Katras area in BCCL. It has been observed that this software will be very useful for solving the problems related to underground mine environmental systems.
