GEOMINETECH SYMPOSIUM ON NEW EQUIPMENT NEW TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT AND SAFETY IN MINES AND MINERAL BASED INDUSTRY

Geominetech Symposium on New Equipment New Technology Management and Safety in Mines and Mineral Based Industry was organised at Hotel Swosti Plaza, Bhubaneswar during 11-12 May 2002 with great enthusiasm amongst the delegates and participants. Sri N.K.Sahu formerly Editor-in-Chief of IME Journal and Secretary, MEAI, Bhubaneswar Chapter welcomed the delegates and introduced the theme of the symposium. A large number of delegates participated in this important event drawing experts from different corners including from R&D bodies and educational institutions of the country. Sri S.N.Padhi former DGMS, Dhanbad, Prof G.B.Misra, former Head, dept of Mining Engineering-HT Kharagpur, Dr.S. K.Puri, Chief General Manager BCCL, Sri K.K.Passi, Director of Mines Safety, Bhubaneswar Region, Sri C.K.Jain, Asst. Prof, ISM Dhanbad, Sri K.C.Choudhury Former DMS and Chairman, MEAI Bhubaneswar Chapter, Prof P.K.Behera, Dy Director, National Institute of Rock Mechanics spoke on this occasion amongst others.
