摘要

We have followed with interest the thread of correspondence initiated by Murdoch and culminating with the rather baffling and patronising article by Mathers etal. Now we have had time to calm down we would like to put forward the case for practice-based primary care research, drawing on our experiences and those of our colleagues over the last 20 vears.
