Tuberculosis in hiv/aids patients in a tertiary care hospital in delhi

HIV infected patients have a unique high susceptibility to mycobacterial infections including tuberculosis. The present study was conducted to study the prevalence and clinico-radiological profile of tuberculosis in HIV-seropositive patients in a tertiary care hospital in Delhi. Tuberculosis was the commonest opportunistic infection in HIV patients in Delhi. Rates of sputum positivity were lower in HIV-seropositives with a higher prevalence of atypical clinico-radiological manifestations.
