From the foregoing discussion, it can be assessed that the nutritional status and health care of women especially in slum and rural areas is quite inadequate and very unsatisfactory. It is neccessary that the woman, who plays a pivotal role in familyhealth care, be equipped with adequate knowledge of nutrition and judicious use of available foods to obtain required nutrients within the limited resources and constraints. The targeting of women in this direction shall help to improve not only her health and well-being, but also of the whole family, especially the children.
