Gardeners adhere to some interesting ideas when it comes to growing herbs. At gardening talks, you can tell from the audience's questions that quite a few people think they need to segregate their herbs from the rest of their plants, keeping the former in an "herb garden." This notion prevents some gardeners from even trying to grow herbs if they don't have room for a new garden. Nobody will admit it, but I think a number of people are afraid of what will happen during the night, when nobody's looking, if herbs mix with perennials in a perennial border.
