摘要

Degradation of char from poly (vinyl chloride) (PVC) or chars from mixtures of PVC and polyethylene glycol (PEG) with potassium carbonate in supercritical water was performed. Degradation of chars from a mixture of PVC and PEG prepared by heating at 250 deg C in nitrogen atmosphere with potassium carbonate at 500 deg C for 3 h supercritical water gave a mixture of hydrocarbons in the yield of 11 wt%, in which the content of benzene was only 5%, accompanied by formation of oil in the yield of 16 wt%. The main reaction products in this degradation reaction were water soluble products. The facts that these water-soluble products did not any absorption in ~1H NMR and ~(13)C NMR spectra and that these water-soluble products show FT-IR absorptions at 1378 and 1622 cm~(-1) suggest that these water soluble products are potassium salt of carbon oxides.
