Camellias in Britain have had their ups and down since their introduction there in the 1 700s. Jennifer Trehane recounted at Longwood how the British camellia future is rosy. As I am sure everyone knows the British climate is notoriously unpredictable. It doesn't rain all the time - honestly, but it can change from hot (70°F) to cold (37°F) or from dry to wet in a matter of minutes, several times a day, especially when our camellias are in flower in spring. They have to be tough and resilient.
