The world trade organisation: the new world constitution laid bare

When the Canada-US Free Trade Agreement was concluded in the 1980s, President Reagan described it as the "economic constitution of North America." Recently the Director General of the WTO, Renato Ruggiero, used similar language to describe the WTO. But the WTO is a constitution for corporations. Its rules take little or no account of people or the environment. This article explains why the WTO is such a threat.
