Photochromic 2-aryl-3-(l-propenyl)maleic anhydride derivatives were synthesized by one pot synthesis and their photo-chromic performance was examined in solution.Photochromism has attracted considerable attention because of its potential application in molecular devices,such as optical memories and switches.
