Uralkali (Berezniki, Russia) says net sales in the first half of 2012 increased 15.1%, to $1.9 billion compared with $1.65 billion in the first half of 2011. Net profits and Ebitda also increased 6% and 32.8% in the first half of 2012, to $842 million and $1.4 billion, respectively. Production and sales volumes of potassium chloride (KCI) decreased 7% and 3.7% in the first half of 2012, to 4.8 million m.t. and 5.1 million m.t., respectively, the company says. Stock depletion at the beginning of the year, across several major export markets, drove the decline in KCI production in the first half of 2012, the company says.
