Bilateral Proptosis, Ptosis, and Vision Loss Crave But Not Craves

A slowly progressive bilateral proptosis, chemosis, and vision loss are protean manifestations of Graves ophthalmopathy (GO), We describe a patient who had an indolent course with such manifestations and was diagnosed with GO. However, vision loss resulting from central retinal artery occlusion, thickening of the belly, as well as tendons of extraocular muscles on computed tomography and worsening with methyl prednisolone therapy defied the diagnosis of GO. It turned out to be mucorales invasion in rhinoorbital tissues in an immunocompetent subject.
