John A. Attaway has written a beautiful book on a very difficult subject - A History of Florida Citrus Freezes, published by Florida Science Source, Inc., of Lake Alfred. Attaway is the former director of scientific research for the Florida Departmentof Citrus, a post he held for better than a quarter-century, and is himself a citrus grower. His long experience in the industry makes him uniquely qualified to produce a work as carefully researched and as technically accurate as this one obviously is, yet he strikes a real human note as well.
