The versatile Christmas pot plant

Poinsettia (Euphorbia pulcherrima) has been produced as a pot plant for about 100 years having been brought from Mexico by the US ambassador, Mr Joel Poinsett in 1836. It was brought to large scale production and therefore public notice by the original Mr Paul Ecke, a recent immigrant to Encinitas, California in the 1920's. This report from Simon Davenport.
