The thirty-third IPM finallyclosed its doors in theGerman city of Essen on Friday 30th January as yet another triumphal success story. Over 55,000 visitors had come to the gigantic four-day trade fair. A record 43 percent of them had travelled from countries outside Germany, and these included over 3000from the American continent and almost 5000 from Asia.There were over 1600 exhibitors, slightly up on 2014, from 49 nations, again a larger number than the year before. The claim to be an international trade fair is well beyond dispute. This year 63% of exhibitors came from countries other than Germany. Thelargest number of foreign exhibitors was, unsurprisingly, from the Netherlands. They accounted for over a fifth of the grand total. According to the organizers, well over 90% of this year's exhibitors planned to be at IPM next year, and a similarly large proportion of visitors also intended to be there.
