A recent seminar organised by Norwich-based business support network InCrops is part of an effort by the organisation to increase its work with commercial greenhouse growers in the East of England. InCrops was established in 2008 to provide business support and link industry with R&D in the non-food and functional crops sectors. Now part of the Adapt group of low carbon projects funded by the EU's European Regional Development Fund, InCrops has recently completed a report on the glasshouse industry in the eastern region, which was launched at the event. Copies of the 30 page report, written by Edward Neave are available free to qualifying, businesses. No one involved in the greenhouse sector in western Europe will need a report to tell them the importance of rising energy costs to business sustainability. However, one potential solution is to utilise the large footprint of greenhouses to generate solar power.
