It isn't just pet dogs and offenders on early release from prison that are electronically tagged. By early next year, so will be the hundreds of thousands of Danish trolleys in use on British nurseries. Europe-wide, there are 3.5 million Danish trolleys - CC Containers as they are formally named. Eighty thousand businesses -growers and retailers - use them. Of these nearly 1500 are in the UK. Each 00 Container should be labelled with its own unique Radio Frequency identification by the 10th January 2011. The major objective in RFID labelling is to help bring to an end a very longstanding problem for the Container Centralen pool system -counterfeit copies of Danish trolleys.
