Highlighting home grown plants

A four year vision initiated by a Surrey plant grower to promote locally grown plants in this country, is nearing completion. Ornamentals grower Dr. Bill Godfrey, former Chairman of the NFU South East Regional Horticultural Board, whose herbaceous nursery is at Lightwater, believes funding for the promotional campaign to highlight home grown plants and flowers should be cleared this month. Originally initiated by Dr Godfrey, he gives unequivocal praise to Isobel Bretherton, the NFU South East Regionpublic relations executive, who furthered his original idea into a plan which ultimately became a research proposal for HDC.
